BreakAway is a companion drawing to the sculpture Little by Little (2023). The drawing has several elements, a figure cut from towel, a Polaroid of the artist drying off with a towel on a discordant background, the words Martyr/Victim cut into the paper and other text scribbles. The drawing's incisions and marks honors the hardships that makes me who I am, but they are also an exercise in shredding obsolete survival mechanisms.
